The Department of Education started with the establishment of Fakiragram College in the year 1994 and got affiliation under Gauhati University in the year 1996. The Department continued to work with the regular faculty members Ms. Aparna Devi, Mr. Shajahan Ali, Ms. Jonali Das and a part time teacher Mr. Mir Golam Hussain appointed by the college authority and they served their best for flourishing and blossom the Department. The Department started Major Courses in the year 2002 and fulfilled the cherished need of the student. The Department is showing good result in the University Examinations. In the year 2008, 2 (Two) students got position 2^nd and 26^th and in 2009 1(one) student occupied 18^th position in the final Examination under Gauhati University. Now the Department is following CBCS Course under Bodoland University. The faculty members are dedicating to the Profession and Unceasing effort to the best for the Department. The faculties are using Conventional And ICT mode in teaching learning process as reconnecting and disseminating spark of knowledge among students and social life. The Department maintains continuous and comprehensive evaluative pattern sincerely for the better of the students. For catering best to the students and society. The Department initiated important steps to remove social barriers I.E. Child- Marriage, Indebtedness, and Dowry System. The Department is having a Psychological Laboratory Room with well-equipped apparatus and instruments for the practical Examination. It has planned to open a Departmental Library and Periodicals to be published from time to time. The Department provides project work to students on current issues as per the syllabus.  Since, the college is affiliated to Bodoland University, Kokrajhar (BTR), Assam, the Department follows the curriculum and syllabus prescribed by the  University.
