About the Department
The Department of History, Fakiragram College started its journey with the establishment of the college in 1994. Initially, History was introduced as a General Subject. Later, the department received permission from Gauhati University to offer General Course from the session 1995–96 and Major/Honours Course from the session 2008–09.
Since then, the department has been offering History as both Honours/Major and Regular subject. Students have been achieving good academic results in both Honours and General courses every year.
The syllabus of the department follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) curriculum under Gauhati University and Bodoland University.

Academic Collaboration
The Department of History has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of History, Sapatgram College for faculty and student exchange programmes. The purpose of this collaboration is to promote academic interaction, research activities, and knowledge sharing between the institutions.
